Well, it's Silver is NOT free! As you can apply any cash back to pay down that credit card.. I use the 1.5%/2%/3% cash back to reduce my raw cost. Apmex has a 4% Bullion credit card that nets you back down to Cash prices. But stay with in your budget!

It's not free when you're paying the stores 3% more to cover processing fees so you can get your 1% back.

People who think this is good are happy enslaving themselves. Pay cash folks and free yourselves.

There's a very key gotcha about this idea. A fundamental thing that is so important, the entire plan fully collapses you if you blow it. To explain: my friend in the auto-repair business has been doing this a long time but not to buy silver. That doesn't matter. He funnels every expense he has onto one credit card. Cell phone, electric, heating oil, fuel, pest control, his paypal acct, car repairs, cable tv; groceries, consumables, dining out, his kid's tuition, you name it. Nearly all of his living expenses went to that one card. He even used it to buy a new car but they only let him do $10K because of the fee they digest. For the balance, he used this technique and paid years in advance. Back when he had a mortgage, he tried to get that onto the card as well but he said the bank fought him on that. It was the only one he couldn't do. Now, 100% of his bills get paid on time, automatically. He never has to open an envelope. Then – and this is the MOST important thing – he set that credit card to pay itself, in full, from his bank acct, every month. He didn't even need to open that bill either! Keep in mind that, if you did this, your monthly credit card balance will be large and he stressed that you absolutely MUST set the card up to "pay itself", in full, so you cannot forget to pay it and end up eating interest payments. He pays no interest ever. Another thing he mentioned: cash-back cards have limits and they're usually very low, just a few hundred dollars. Airline miles do not have limits and, since he intends to fly outside the U.S. frequently to visit family & friends, he racks up those miles using a particular airline that flys where he wants to go. Same as getting cash to him. Many venues and vendors offer double and triple points so he pays attention to the monthly emails from the airline to stay abreast of "special offers" where points increase. Using this technique, he's been able to get at least one ticket, sometimes two and – once – three, round-trip tickets OUS every year. All were worth between $1300-$1500 at the time. In my opinion, this would work for anyone at any income level, but ymmv. There is another upside. Because no bill he has is ever late, he said he has an outstanding credit score. The better the credit score, the more perks they give. Just don't spend more than you earn and keep your bank account. I bet that could be easy to do. As I tell you about him, it sounds like he would embrace a CBDC since this technique is basically living almost cashless.

I love the break away Vicambi packs. I have two of them, but i don't like the premiums though. I still can't find myself buying bitcoin, i think to me it has to do with investing on nothing physical. To me it feels like a ponzi scheme, but to each their own. It's about physical metals or real estate to me.

How does this method make the silver free? You handle your finances in a more efficient way, and end up with more money. Spend on "free" groceries? , Sox?, or whatever. You are still SPENDING your money.

Another way is to sell your silver eagles when they are high then repurchase them when they are lower and buy some more mettle with the difference. I messed the wave last time this was possible but my friend did it with a monster box and rubbed it in my face.

Great tip. I have been using the cc perks for gas. Its a funny thing that the price of gold and silver is going up so I am making money but I really want it to go down so I can buy a lot more weird thinking.

We buy gift cards at our grocery store to use for purchases everywhere from Home Depot to restaurants to cruise lines. On top of that, we usually buy only when they have a 3X or 4X points promotion. Points can be redeemed at a chain of gas stations… at the moment we have $725 of free gas (just need to use it by the end of the year – with bidenomics that shouldn’t be a problem).

If you're not paying your credit card off in full every month then you are getting charged interest and more than likely that interest is going to be more than any gift card you are getting. It takes a while to save up some points to get a good size gift card.

I have a Credit Karma account and so I check for all the credit card offers who will give you cash back when you spend a certain amount in the 1st three months which is usually 1000.00 and you receive 200.00 back in most cases. I have did this several times with different cards. I had one that gave me back 200.00 for spending 500.00 in the 1st 3 months. To me this is a great route to go.

Come on. It would take you forever to get enough credit card cash back to buy one ounce.
Best idea is sell all the crap you dont need. Do you have a boat sitting there that you dont use anymore. How about 4 wheelers or that golf cart you had to have? Thats 10 grand right there. Sell sell sell all the clutter around your house. Look around. In the garage. Expensive tools never taken out of the box.

I do this, although indirectly. One note though, you can't use ebay gift cards to buy bullion or coins. When i get ebay gift cards i use them to buy bullion and coin supplies; storage, airtites, and the like.

I’ve been doing this for years. Using my cash back to buy precious metals. Concern is that you must stay within your budget, not buy things you don’t really need, and stay current with your credit card bill. Over the last several years i use different cards for different purchases. For example credit card #1 pays 3% cash back on all internet purchases. Credit card #2 pays 2% cash back on all purchases. Credit card #3 pays 4% cash back on all gas purchases. I will caution all that this approach requires a very disciplined approach, or you will overspend on things you don’t need, exceed your budget, and potentially be paying interest on balances negating the benefits. I also like to take the savings generated from coupons and rebates and set that money aside as well to be used for metals purchases at year-end.
