MY 5 STREAMS OF INCOME AS A NEW NURSE | SIDE HUSTLES | PAY TRANSPARENCY

Hello everyone! In this video I will be sharing my side hustles as a new nurse and pay transparency! I will let you guys know …
Hey everyone! Today, I wanted to share with you my experience with side hustles as a new nurse and provide some pay transparency. I believe it’s important to be open about how much nurses make, so I’ll be sharing the exact amounts I earn from each of my jobs. I know not everyone likes to discuss their salaries, but I think it’s beneficial for new nurses and nursing students to understand the earning potential in this field.

First off, let me introduce myself. I’m Tanya, and I’ve been working as a nurse for about 10 months now. I currently work in the Pediatric ICU in Las Vegas, Nevada, where I started as a new grad at $40 an hour. This is my main job, and I also receive a $2 night shift differential and a weekend differential.

In addition to my hospital job, I have several side hustles that help me supplement my income. One of my part-time gigs is at a rehab facility, where I earn $42 an hour as a premium employee. I also do IV hydration therapy on the side, working as a 1099 employee and earning a commission of 30% on services that can range from $250 to $500.

Another side hustle I recently started is in home health nursing, where I get paid per patient visit. For a start of care visit, I earn $100, and for follow-up visits, I earn $50 each. Home health has been a new and exciting experience for me, and I appreciate the flexibility it offers.

Lastly, my fifth side hustle is my YouTube channel, where I finally started earning some income after years of creating content. While it’s not enough to be my full-time job, it’s a rewarding way to share my nursing journey and connect with others in the field.

I understand that some people might wonder why I choose to work multiple part-time jobs instead of picking up extra shifts at the hospital. From my perspective, having diverse income streams allows me more flexibility and control over my schedule. Additionally, I’ve heard that picking up too many overtime shifts at the same hospital can lead to higher tax deductions, making it less financially rewarding in the long run.

It’s important to note that balancing multiple jobs can be challenging, and I always prioritize self-care to avoid burnout. Nursing is a demanding profession, and it’s crucial to take care of yourself both physically and mentally.

For anyone considering a career in nursing, I want to encourage you that it’s possible to achieve your goals with perseverance and dedication. Nursing can be a rewarding career with many opportunities for growth and personal fulfillment.

I hope this video provides some insight into the world of nursing side hustles and pay transparency. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions for future videos. Thank you for watching, and I appreciate your support!
