Nobody can afford to buy a decent gold curb chain anymore because prices have gone up so much even for the 9ct stuff. A chain that used to cost £1500 is now costing £4000 or £5000. I think a lot of people are now shifting to silver for their jewellery. There is twice as much sterling silver jewellry being sold as there is gold and there is even more stainless steel than silver. I wonder what the jewellers will do to solve this issue? They really need to have more gold supply but I'm not sure that is going to happen anytime soon or that prices will come down for gold. They will likely cease selling gold products altogether. That's the probable outcome I think. Maybe that then causes more supply? I can't imagine that people want to buy and wear stainless steel though. I'm surprised they haven't produced more platinum products given the relatively low price right now.

I'd definitely agree with you if you said Platinum is well below it's asset or commodity
value (which is different from price). In other words, "undervalued". 👍
